Site health monitoring
In addition to Google Analytics (which requires your consent), we run a lightweight, self-hosted monitoring system that checks whether pages load correctly, render without errors, and deliver content as expected. This is a technical quality measure — not a marketing or advertising tool. It operates without cookies and without consent because:
- No cookies are set — the monitor uses your browser's sessionStorage, which is automatically cleared when you close the tab
- No cross-session identification — there is no persistent identifier linking separate visits
- No personal data is collected — no IP addresses are stored, no browser fingerprinting, no user profiles
- Data stays first-party — reports are processed on our own infrastructure (Google Cloud, EU region) and are never shared with third parties
- URLs are sanitised — query parameters are stripped before processing to prevent accidental collection of personal data
The aggregated data collected is limited to: which pages loaded successfully, page load and render times (TTFB, FCP, LCP, CLS, INP), content render depth, device category (mobile/tablet/desktop), connection quality (4g/3g), country (derived server-side from request headers — IP addresses are not stored), and JavaScript error counts.
This data is used exclusively to detect and resolve content delivery failures, performance regressions, and rendering issues. This approach falls within the exemption criteria set out by the CNIL and other EU data protection authorities for strictly necessary technical monitoring.
